Celebrating 10 Years Teaching Chocolate!

In 2011, I left my specialized chocolate dessert retail and wholesale business (Pure Chocolate Desserts by Zach) after realizing my dream of a chocolate shop was evolving into a new path of translating cookbooks. Yet, I was determined to stay in the kitchen to continue developing recipes while maintaining my baking and chocolate skills.

Teaching chocolate to others was actually an unplanned path. I had a group of friends (two married couples) approach me and ask me to put together a fun evening of chocolate for one of their monthly date-night outings. I enthusiastically accepted (I could feel a spark ignite within me at that moment) and the rest is history. This year, 2021, now marks TEN YEARS! It’s difficult to imagine that this simple request led to the creation of Dallas Chocolate Classes, and the experience of now having taught and presented to thousands of people across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, eventually reaching chocolate enthusiasts in Australia, Israel, northern Canada, and across the United States. It’s been an amazing, and unexpected, adventure! The spark I felt that day grew into a burning passion that has never subsided (my “eternal chocolate flame,” if you will).

Whether I’m standing in front of one person or fifty, the excitement to teach others all I know about working with chocolate is exciting, and I can feel inside that my passion will continue to burn bright for many years more.
